Off-court training
built for sand.
Sand asks more of your ankles, hips and change of direction than any hard-court sport. This is a strength program built around exactly that — by Alex Melo of ATeam Fitness, included with your BTSM membership.
Twenty years of coaching, pointed at our sport.
Alex Melo is the founder and head coach of ATeam Fitness in West Los Angeles, and a kinesiologist. He has spent more than twenty years training people one on one — complete beginners, professional athletes, and clients working back from injury.

- 20+ years training clients one on one, from beginners to professional athletes
- Founder and head coach of ATeam Fitness, West Los Angeles

His approach is science over hype: form before load, strength that holds up over years rather than weeks, and recovery treated as part of the work rather than an afterthought.
Sand changes what your body has to do.
Every step out there lands on a surface that moves under you. That means constant lateral movement, fast changes of direction, and far more work through the ankles and hips than the same hour on a hard court.
A general gym program doesn't account for any of that. This one is built around it.
Built for the way you actually move out there.
Lateral bounds, cutting, quick recovery steps — the patterns the sand actually demands, progressed week by week so each session builds on the last.
Dedicated stability work built into every workout, aimed squarely at the joints an unstable surface loads hardest.
Developed progressively to support your serve and swing mechanics, while protecting your low back and shoulders rather than grinding them down.
Clear coaching cues and a video demonstration for each movement, with that week's sets and reps written into the notes, so you are never guessing at form or volume.
The app has a messages tab. If you're not sure about a movement, or something doesn't feel the way you expected, message him there and he'll answer.
Your profile in the app holds measurements and progress photos. You update them yourself whenever you want, and look back across the season instead of guessing whether it's working.
Every movement opens like this: what it works, what you need, a video to watch, and the steps written out. Tap through your week session by session and tick things off as you go.

Open My Classes in your BTSM account and opt in to the training program.
Alex adds you to MyPTHub, the app the program runs in. He does this by hand, so give it a couple of days.
MyPTHub emails you an invitation to join. Accept it and your program is there waiting.
What opting in shares: your name and email address, and nothing else — that's what Alex needs to create your account. Your membership, payments and class history stay with BTSM, and anything you add inside the app later lives in your MyPTHub account rather than ours.
Included with every active membership at no extra cost. The invitation comes from MyPTHub rather than from us, so check your spam folder if it hasn't turned up after a few days. You can opt out any time from the same place, and access ends when your membership does.
